Exploring Sustainable Fishing in Funabashi: A Journey Through T-card’s Waste-Less Platform
Our Journey
As a cinematographer, I have had the opportunity to work on many exciting projects, but none quite as impactful as my recent trip to Funabashi. The purpose of this trip was to capture the essence of T-card’s waste-less fishing utilisation platform, which encourages ethical food procurement and aims to minimize waste as much as possible.
As we arrived in Funabashi, we immediately headed out to the local port to film the local fishermen unloading their ships. The fishermen were proud to share their stories with us and spoke about the importance of sustainable fishing practices. They explained how T-card’s platform has helped them to sell their catch more efficiently, reducing waste and ensuring that the fish are caught ethically.
Next, we visited the local fish market where we filmed the fish being sold and prepared for distribution. The market was bustling with activity, with vendors and customers alike busy buying and selling the freshest catch of the day.
Finally, we made our way to a local sushi restaurant where we filmed the chef preparing dishes using the freshest ingredients sourced from the local fish market. It was fascinating to see the care and attention the chef took in selecting the right fish for each dish and preparing it to perfection. The result was a beautiful spread of delicious sushi, showcasing the best of what Funabashi has to offer.
T-card’s waste-less fishing utilisation platform is making a real difference to the local community, ensuring that the fish are caught and sold sustainably, reducing waste and promoting ethical food procurement. It was a privilege to see this in action and to be able to help share the story with others. We hope that this video will inspire others to support sustainable fishing practices and to embrace the waste-less lifestyle.”
